Bath Wedding Flowers – Black and white wedding flowers

A few weeks ago I provided wedding flowers in Bath to the lovely Poppy who got married at The Theatre Royal, Bath and held her reception at the Bath Racecourse. Poppy had a very specific theme…. black and white! Poppy’s bouquet was filed with blousy white peonies, avalanche roses, white germini with a black centre, and white hydrangeas. I used lambs ear and eucalyptus foliage to separate the flowers and the pale grey foliage worked well against the pure white flowers.

Poppy’s bridesmaids carried hand tied posy bouquets of all gypsophila, which are becoming more popular with couples now. Gyp looks great when used en masse and is a great alternative to a more traditional bouquet filled with flowers. The men wore tied buttonholes of lisianthus and gyp with eucalyptus foliage.

When it came to decorating the marquee at Bath racecourse Poppy had a great idea which was to decorate black top hats with flowers and place these within the centre of the table. Both Poppy and her fiancée are interested in amateur dramatics and this theme carried on throughout the day. I decorated each side of the hat with white flowers and poked black and white ostrich feathers out of the arrangement to add extra impact. It was lovely to do something a little different and I wish the happy couple lots of love and congratulations!
