Bristol Wedding Flowers – Seasonal Flowers in June

I am in the midst of wedding season here at The Rose Shed and June is always a very popular month with couples wanting to get wed. Here is a selection of some of the wedding flowers I lovingly created last month, hopefully giving you some examples of the beautiful, seasonal flowers that are available for your wedding in June.

Cath and Nathan were married in Thornbury Church and held their reception at Thornbury golf club. Cath was really keen to use bright red and purple flowers as her starting point and I suggested that we add in the lime green foliage to lift this colour combination and give the bouquets a summery feel. Red roses, red germini, purple lisianthus and lime green mollis all tied in together fabulously!

A totally different look altogether was Emma’s wedding flowers, with Emma wanting soft, country side inspired, natural looking bouquets packed full of roses, spray roses, gyp, mollis, astrantia, peonies, daisy spray and thistles. Quite the combination I think you’ll agree and I know Emma was thrilled with her bouquets as she sent me a message the next day saying she cried when she saw her bouquet! In a good way I am told 🙂

Kate and Jim were married in Taunton and held their reception in West Buckland village hall, a real country, village affair with everyone chipping in to decorate and cook etc. Kate held a very natural bouquet filled with purple and blue natural flowers, however she allowed me to go to town with colour for the reception flowers. Tables were adorned with jam jars brimming with multi coloured seasonal, June flowers such as cornflowers, achillea, dahlias, roses, astrantia, stocks, daisy spray and sunflowers. This total colour clash mix looked amazing and I would thoroughly recommend to any couples wanting this laid back, summer kind of wedding!

Onto one of my favourite bouquets from June… Helen’s bouquet contained a variety of purple and blue tones and she wanted a very natural, rustic looking hand tied bouquet. I used clematis, stocks, cornflowers, memory lane roses, bright blue delphiniums, thistles, with mint, lavender and aquilegia from the garden! Beautiful!

Mike and Lucy were married at Cheddon Fitzpaine village church and held their reception at Combe House Hotel, Holford on the Quantocks. I had an extremely bright colour palette to work with on this wedding including cerise, purple, blue, lime green with a hint of orange. This suited the bright sunny wedding day perfectly! Here are the brides and bridesmaids bouquets packed with cornflowers, delphiums, lisianthus, roses, veronica, stocks and buplerum.

Finally my last wedding of June was a very subtle, vintage colour way of lilacs, pale pinks, peaches and ivory. Lucy initially had wanted a dome of roses for her bouquets, but changed her mind at the last minute and asked me to add foliage and anything else I thought would match! This was right up my street so I set to work adding pale pink astilbe, lisianthus, astrantia, and pale grey eucalyptus set amongst the roses which added far more texture and interest than a plain bouquet of roses. Congratulations to all my couples who got married in June! July is shaping up to be a busy month, and with more seasonal flowers coming in to their own I am looking forward to getting stuck in to the next month’s work. Happy Days!
