Jess and Paddy – A Bristol Wedding

On Saturday I had the opportunity to create gorgeous wedding flowers in Bristol for the lovely Jess and Paddy. We based the flowers around Jess’ bespoke wedding dress which was a fabulous 50s style lace dress with a bright purple belt.

The bouquet had of a mixture of ivory and purple tones, featuring avalanche roses, memory lane roses, purple lisianthus, fresh lavender and eucalyptus foliage. I used a sample of lace from Jess’ dress to tie the bouquet which looked amazing and fitted in with the theme perfectly. The boys wore avalanche rose buttonholes with lavender and lisianthus.

After a ceremony at Bristol registry office the reception was held at Circomedia, a unique venue on Portland Square, Bristol – the place looked really spectacular as it’s an old restored church!!

The tables were decorated with planted arrangements in enamel containers; the idea being people could take the plants home at the end of the evening and plant in the garden, leaving a lasting memory of Paddy and Jess’ big day. I used lavender, rosemary, marguerite daisys and variagated ivy all topped off with luscious green moss – I love the idea that people will be snipping off bits of rosemary from the wedding plants to use for their Sunday roasts!

At Circomedia the guests were entertained by acrobats performing on trapezes and were served pizzas all night where they were allowed ‘pick your own’ toppings which is such a brilliant idea when it comes to filling bellies at weddings.

Huge congratulations to Jess and Paddy! X
