I am Rachel Husband, a Somerset florist specialising in creating wedding and event flowers. I absolutely love my job and cannot think of a more satisfying and rewarding one. I also feel hugely lucky to be surrounded by gorgeous flowers all day and being allowed to work my magic transforming them for the most special occassions in people’s lives.
My love of flowers has always been there, however it really began when I started as a Saturday girl at a local florist! I can safely say I have worked my way up from the bottom and am really grateful for this; all those endless hours conditioning flowers and making cups of tea (some things never change!) has made me the florist I am today.
A country bumpkin at heart, I returned to floristry in the west country after completing my degree in Manchester. I worked in more local florists and then for a design and manufacturing company designing floral arrangements for the likes of Next and Laura Ashley. After a move to Bristol I honed my skills working in a high end Clifton florist. Starting my own business was the next step – The Rose Shed was born and here I am!
When I am not playing with flowers I can be found walking the dogs through the fields, cooking up a curry feast or relaxing with red wine and a roast dinner. My love of cooking is nearly up there with my love of flowers and I can happily spend the day dreaming about what delights I’ll create later that evening. This is the start of something special and I am prepared to put everything I have got into making The Rose Shed a success, so I am definitely looking forward to the next few months and years developing The Rose Shed!
