Wedding Flowers – The Great Tythe Barn, Tetbury

Sarah and Nathan were married at The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury last Saturday and wanted to use seasonal flowers available in January for their wedding flowers. The barn is a fabulous wedding venue with rustic stone walls and beams and I always enjoy decorating this wedding venue.

Sarah wanted a simple hand tied bouquet of soft pink, vintage inspired roses. I used a selection of ‘Sweet Avalanche’, ‘Mentha’, ‘Upper Secret’ and the most beautifully scented ‘O Hara’ roses. To accompany the roses I used berried eucalyptus, a firm favourite foliage of mine at this time of year. The stems were wrapped in dusky pink ribbon.

The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of Sarah’s bouquets and the guys had Sweet Avalanche with berried eucalyptus buttonholes. Sarah and Nathan wanted to use natural, seasonal flowers in their wedding and we decided on using a mixture of vessels for the table decorations. A mixture of cream enamel jugs, glass kilner jars and clusters of glass bottles and jars all filled with narcissi, ranunculus, lisianthus, ginista, wax flower, roses and eucalyptus. I loved mixing up the containers and this worked really well.

I got to fill my large glass pickling jars with flowers which I always love to do! One placed on the entrance table and one of the ceremony table.  I thoroughly enjoyed Sarah’s wedding flowers and loved the classic, elegant nature of her rose bouquet!
