Priston Mill Wedding Flowers – Kelly and James

August has come around awfully quickly! Entering my busiest month of the year it was great to kick off with Kelly and James’s wedding at one of my favourite venues to decorate Priston Mill. The Tythe Barn is such a popular choice with couples and I can always see why when I spend time decorating it! Kelly and James wanted a soft feel to their big day focusing on dusky pinks, ivory with lots of soft green.

I filled Kelly’s hand tied bouquet with blousy soft roses such as ‘Mentha’ ‘Sweet Avalanche and ‘Avalanche’ alongside ivory dahlias and ‘super bubbles’ spray roses. I used eucalyptus and rosemary foliage with lavender sprigs and finished the bouquet off with beautiful sage green ribbon and cotton lace. The bridesmaids had similar bouquets yet with pale pink ribbon as they were wearing sage green dresses! It was lovely to see Kelly on the morning of her wedding when I delivered the bouquets she was having her make up done by Emily of Beauty by Emily Faith and was looking beautiful. I love bumping into Emily on our wedding travels, such a great girl I have actually booked her to do my own make up for my wedding next year!

I loved the boys buttonholes, ever so pale pink spray roses which sat amongst rosemary and lavender sprigs. They have a slight rustic feel to them yet arranged in a neat way and tied with ivory ribbon still have that elegant look needed for guys when they are wearing smart suits.

When it came to decorating Priston Mill with wedding flowers, I tied tiny posies filled with stocks, roses, lisianthus and daisies to the chairs lining the aisles. I also placed two olive trees at the start of the aisle, it is a great idea to use plants and trees within your wedding flowers and I always think Olive has such a calming feel to it.

The tables were decorated with a mix of kilner jars and jam jars which were initially placed in the alcoves of the barn. These rustic table flowers always fit in perfectly witht the look of the barn and are a very popular choice with couples.

On the front door to welcome guests I hung a white twiggy heart which had a flower spray attached to it, I find its these extra special touches that make the difference to your big day and the things that guests will notice and remember! Wishing Kelly and James lots of love and happiness in their new married life together!
