Last weekend I provided wedding flowers for a fabulous couple opting for a traditional winter wedding of rich, sumptuous reds with dark green foliage, berries and pine cones.
Lisa, the bride, carried a fabulous hand tied bouquet packed with Grand Prix and Black Bacarra roses, both of these roses have a lovely, velvety texture and work so well together. With the roses I used a variety of textural foliage, such as berried eucalyptus, red hypericum berries and dark green ruskus. The combination of the romantic, rich looking roses against the texture and the interest of the foliage was perfect for this December winter wedding. The stems were bound with ivory ribbon and secured with diamonte pins to match the detail on Lisa’s dress.
The bridesmaids wore forest green dresses and carried hand tied bouquets of Grand Prix, Black Bacarra roses with the textural berries and foliage, yet Lisa also wanted to incorpate pine cones within the bouquets. I wired these onto long wires, taped and placed amongst the roses and foliage and I think they made a perfect addition to the bouquet offering that natural, woodland aspect to the traditional red roses, berries and various foliage.
Big Congratulations to Lisa and Scott!
