Bristol Wedding Flowers – The Autumnal Way

Autumn has well and truly kicked in and I have been lucky enough to work on some fantastic autumn weddings in Bristol and Somerset this year. The market is full of rich, warm tonal colours of reds, oranges and yellows and packed full of sumptuous textured foliages, berry and seed heads. Yes, I am a fan of Autumn!

Lisa was married at Huntstile Organic Farm in Somerset, a fab wedding venue in the countryside allowing you to decorate and diy your wedding as much as you want! Lisa chose a very sophisticated colour way of dark reds, antique gold and dusky, vintage pinks and her bouquet has to be one of my favourites this year! (I know I say this a lot, but hey I’m a fickle florist!!)

I used the most amazing soft pink ‘mentha’ roses, an antique gold looking garden rose, black bacara roses, alongside bronze chrysanthemum blooms and burgundy dahlias as the leading stars of the bouquet. Such an unusual combination, but this really worked and I found myself so chuffed all day that I was surrounded by these beauties!! To accompany the flowers I used scabiosa seed heads, echinacea seed heads, skimmia, hypericum, rosemary and berried eucalyptus. So many textures and different feels to the bouquet, yet Lisa still wanted the bouquet to look relatively compact and hand tied in order to suit her dress and frame. The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet and the tables were adorned with jam jars packed with all of the above lovely seasonal flowers. A proper country, autumnal wedding!

Sian was married on the SS Great Britain in Bristol and held the reception at The Pump House in Hotwells…Both fab Bristol wedding venues. Sian wanted a classic, autumnal bridal bouquet focusing on burgundy and orange wedding flowers, particularly the mango calla lilies and black bacara roses. I added in burgundy dahlias to add interest alongside seasonal rose hips, echinacea seed heads and berried eucalyptus.  The stems were bound with natural twine and burgundy ribbon.

Sian sent me the most lovely thank you email after the wedding which was very much appreciated! Congratulations all!!

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for my wedding flowers. They were absolutely stunning and even better than I could have imagined. Thank you so much for your help, guidance and service second to none. You helped make our day even more special.”
