Wedding Flower Inspiration – Chair Flower Decoration

Today I want to share with you some fantastic ways of using flowers to decorate the chairs at your wedding venue. With more couples choosing to hold the ceremony in their reception venue such as a hotel or country barn they are looking for ways to decorate the ‘aisle’ of the ceremony and in my opinion you cannot beat fresh flowers to do this job!

The whitewash chiavari chairs are popular with venues which is great as they are a neutral option and work well with all colour schemes. It is a lovely idea to use little tied bunches to each chair lining the aisle, this provides colour and decoration and also lines with the way for the bride in a special way! Here I used summer flowers in pale blue and ivory tied to the end of the chair with raffia for a wedding at Kingscote Barn. Pics of the blue chair ends below by Matt Willis

This old style wooden chair looks great with a spring flower chair end tied to the side. Orange ranunculus, cream narcissi, blue muscari and green bell foliage is a bright way of bringing a colourful touch to your spring wedding. I love how the bright blue ribbon trails down against the dark of the wood, lightening the chair.

Foliage is being more popular to use on its own within weddings. Here I used different types of soft grey foliage such as eucalyptus and berried eucalyptus and created a loose swag which was tied to the chair with white lace ribbon. This foliage swag would be a great option to use to decorate the happy couple’s chairs and I love how the loose, natural foliage offers a more laid back boho kind of vibe!

This final option is a showstopper and a beautiful way, again to decorate the happy couple’s chair for the ceremony or for the reception afterwards. I created this flower swag in the most gorgeous soft peach and pale pink tones which are a popular choice for couples getting married this year. I used peach David Austin  roses, pale pink Kloony ranunculus, and peach spray roses some of my ultimate favourites and very in keeping with the peach/blush tones that are around at the moment. Foliage wise I used asparagus fern which is a soft, translucent wispy foliage alongside berried eucalytpus and eucalyptus with trailing pale pink jasmine offering a romantic, trailing feel.

I created some of these flower chair decorations for Kirsten, The Little Wedding Helper to use in a shoot for Bridal Musings blog, if you want to read the whole blog post then please do here. Thanks to Becky Male for taking these beautiful photos too!
