The one with the Whippet!

I absolutely loved working with Sarah and Will on their wedding flowers at Coombe Lodge, not only did they have amazing taste in flowers they also brought their gorgeous whippet along to the wedding too! Albert Palmer did an amazing job as always with the photos and I’m so pleased Sarah sent through a little selection of their special day. Feast your eyes on this summer beauty at one of my favourite venues in Bristol, Coombe Lodge.

Sarah choose soft pink, pale blue, coral and ivory flowers for their wedding last July at Coombe Lodge, luckily the happy were able to get married outside due to it being a beautiful day! The outside ceremonies at Coombe Lodge are the best as you are in the beautiful gardens, underneath the gorgeous archway of the building. Such a special location!

The bouquets were filled with pale pink peonies (the last of the season which Sarah was thrilled about!), pale blue delphiniums, sweet peas, coral ‘Vuvuzela’ roses and ivory ‘Avalanche’ roses, with soft grey foliage to complement.

The boys had tied, rustic buttonholes of spray roses, lisianthus, eucalyptus and rosemary all finished off with twine, which looked great against the dark blue jackets and tweed. I dressed the aisle chairs with hanging jam jars filled with seasonal, pretty flowers and finished off with trailing pink ribbon. The ceremony was decorated with two large stone urns, placed either side. It is really important to have a focal piece at the ceremony, either an archway or a large arrangements like these urns as they do frame the happy couple!

The tables inside were dressed with lots of glass bottles and votives filled with seasonal flowers and foliage, with a sweet pea placed on each place setting! We wanted to make a feature of the top table, so I hung a foliage garland which had placements of flowers throughout, behind the top table. Coombe Lodge is beautiful, but the walls are neutral so this is a great way to add a focus to the top table.

How beautiful is the cake? White chocolate filled with flower petals and loose flower heads!

We took care in decorating all aspects of Coombe Lodge, see that gorgeous floral heart it was hung above the mantelpiece in the lobby of the venue. The mantel inside was dressed with lettered tea cups, candles and letters styled by The Little Wedding Helper. This was such a pretty wedding to work on with so many special touches, thank you so much for sharing your wedding photos!
