Rustic and Natural wedding flower inspiration – Purple and Blue flowers

When it comes to natural and rustic wedding flowers I like to think that is one of my specialities at The Rose Shed! Texture and movement in a bouquet is always very important to me and I think by the use of foliage and flowers in various shapes and sizes you can achieve a wonderful whimsical look.  I want to share with you today some examples of wedding flowers focusing on a blue and purple colour theme. A popular one I do like to mix the two together amongst whites and lots of green for that soft look! All these flowers were created this August so would be perfect for a summer wedding from the months from June to August.

Both of the above bouquets are great examples of slightly loose and natural hand tied bouquets filled with seasonal summer delights such as cornflowers, clematis, astrantia, dill, delphiniums and nigella they cross the blue and purple spectrum in a fab way.

The above bouquet is a tad more neat and compact however still there is plenty of texture and interest with the use of the spiky veronica and green bell foliage. The soft nigella and cornflowers work perfectly against the focal memory lane rose and the added lisianthus. The stems were finished off with a cotton lace binding adding that vintage look many brides are going for.

For some natural and rustic buttonhole inspiration here are a few great examples for the boys. All these buttonholes have been tied with twine and feature seasonal flowers such as cornflowers, delphiniums, clematis, nigella and lisianthus alongside the all important foliage sprigs including rosemary, green bell, mollis. The perfect accompaniment to any handsome groom!
