Priston Mill Winter Wedding Flowers

I have some beautiful winter wedding flowers to share with you today from Sophie’s wedding at Priston Mill, near Bath. One of my favourite venues to decorate, this rustic barn is set in the most beautiful countryside and in December is even more pretty due to the christmas tree! Sophie and James were married the week before Christmas and choose deep plum, dusky lilac and ivory tones for their wedding flowers. At this time of year people tend to think you either stick to winter whites, or christmassy reds, but this combination screams winter. Yet in a more sophisticated less christmassy way!

The bouquets were filled with dusky lilac ‘memory lane’ roses, deep plum ranunculus, astrantia, white narcissi, veronica and white thistles. Nestled amongst tonnes of soft grey, wintery foliage such a spruce and eucalyptus. I loved the colour combination of these bouquets and they look stunning with the raspberry colour bridesmaids dresses. The colour also added lots of warmth to inside of the barn.

The boys wore white ranunculus with foliage sprigs, the perfect accompaniment to their navy suits! The ceremony was dressed with a foliage runner, running down the length of the aisle and a trailing arrangement placed on the ceremony table.

Just take a look at this cake that Sophie’s aunt made, It looks very professional! I just accessorised the cake with a lovely little cake topper, and then clusters of the plum and dusky lilac flowers. Just a simple few flowers can really bring a cake to life!

Thanks so much to Belinda McCarthy for thoughtfully sending through these photos after the wedding. You can visit her website here!
