Priston Mill Wedding Flowers – Gemma and Marc

Gemma and Marc were married at the fabulous Priston Mill last week, and focused on using an elegant palette of pale blue and ivory within their wedding flowers. I loved working with this couple as they were so organised, providing me with word docs featuring images they loved, detailed descriptions of aspects of the wedding, so it really was easy to pull together ideas for their wedding flowers.

Gemma was looking for a hand tied posy bouquet which was neat, compact, full of flower with little foliage. Hydrangeas were very key to this wedding as they featured on the invites. I used ivory Avalanche roses, pale blue hydrangea florets, white double lisianthus, ivory spray roses with a hint of eucalyptus foliage.

The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the above. Stems of the bouquet were bound with ivory ribbon and secured with pearl headed pins.

It is always a joy to head up to Priston to decorate, Gemma and Marc were in the Tythe Barn, such a large, beautiful space perfect for a wedding! The stone walls suit any colour scheme, yet the pale blue and ivory would have worked particularly well lightening the room I feel. Tall Glass vases were placed on the tables, with a large domed arrangement of hydrangeas, roses, stocks, lisianthus, delphiniums and eucalyptus. Here is a pic of them lined up on the bar ready to go onto the tables! These vases are great for barn wedding settings such as Priston because they are tall and the colour of the flowers fills the space above the tables. They also still allow people to communicate and see each other when sat down at the table because they are that tall.

How amazing are these hydrangeas? Such a great flower to use in weddings in August they really are in their prime… Huge Congratulations to Gemma and Marc I wish you all the love and happiness in your new married life together!
