With over the ten years of running my floristry business I have worked at the most prestigious wedding venues in the South West so have a wealth of expertise when it comes to dressing your venue. We specialise in marquee weddings too and have been lucky enough to create some show stopping wedding flowers in marquees. Flowers are my absolute passion and there really is nothing like opening the studio door to a room full of blooms, there is a serious buzz and level of excitement that I get from working on wedding flowers! I have worked with flowers since 13 when I started at my local florist in Somerset as a Saturday girl. At 37 now, that is a lot of years (wow how to make a girl feel old!) I always wonder just how many bouquets I have actually made... you know that you are in completely safe hands with my wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience in the industry. My wedding florist business The Rose Shed is now over ten years old and I have worked on a countless number of beautiful weddings! Each wedding is different and I adore getting to know my couples, finding out about their vision and plans for their big day and discussing together how florals can add to this.
As a wedding florist in Devon you will find me on hand throughout your wedding planning process, on the phone or email we will initially discuss your ideas and concept for your wedding day. In our consultation we will discuss the feel, mood and look you are wanting to achieve, please do not worry if you do not know what flowers you love or are in season. This is my job, and I will help guide you through flower seasonality, colour palettes, venue dressing ideas, styling concepts and all the other important little details that sit in between!
I personally deal with all enquiries, admin and the consultations so you can rest assured that you will be dealing with myself throughout the whole process. After our consultation a detailed proposal, conceptual mood board and itemised quote will be sent, a booking fee is required to save the date. I will then be in touch throughout your planning process for any queries that you may have, however I recommend a recap consultation a few months before your big day where we can finalise your floral plans. On the day of your wedding myself and the team will arrive bright and early at your wedding day to create and install your beautiful blooms. We do not leave until every flower has been placed to perfection!
When I am not surrounded by flowers, I am most happiest out in the fresh air... a serious country girl at heart you can find me on the beautiful North Devon beaches or up on the moors walking my Irish Terrier Betsy with my daughter Nell and partner Jack. The landscape in Devon is constantly changing with the seasons so I am so lucky enough to be exposed to so much inspiration in nature, this will heavily feature in my designs.
