Priston Mill Wedding Flowers – Megan and Steve

I absolutely loved making these wedding flowers for Megan and Steve for their big day at Priston Mill. As soon as I met Megan I knew that her flowers and vision for her day was so up my street! Seasonal, soft pink, peach, ivory pastels with hints of brighter pinks, corals, and purples… with a few succulents thrown in for good measure!

Megan’s bouquet has to be one of my late spring early summer favourites! I have been known to be a fickle florist when it comes to changing season’s however this bouquet has it all for me! We have hints of spring with the white ranunculus, yet the blousy Sarah Bernhardt peonies, David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses, clematis, astilbe and lavender add a massive nod to summer. Megan wanted lots of texture and interest in the bouquets so veronica, nigella, spray roses and astilbe all offer a wide variety of flower shapes.

When it came to the five bridesmaid bouquets Megan wanted to stick within the same colour pallete but was happy for each one to be different, this really paid off in the overall look of the wedding flowers despite me spending a lot longer than usual working out my flower order!

When it came to decorating Priston Mill with wedding flowers Megan had loads of ideas which was great. I filled my two milk churns with the most amazing coral peonies, peach foxgloves, lilac stocks,  larkspur and peach roses and placed these either side of the ceremony table. I tied two floral decorations to the backs of the bride and groom chair which were facing the guests, offering a great way to decorate this space and even more impact!

The tables were filled with a mix of jam jars and bottles that Megan had collected and initially I placed these in the alcoves of the Tythe barn to provide extra detail within the ceremony. The mezzanine balcony was decorated with a floral swag and a gyp heart hung from the centre. Outside the barn I decorated the tables with extra jam jars and some gorgeous watering cans filled with seasonal flowers. It was a such a beautiful sunny day so those peonies opened in a flash!

Lots of love to Megan and Steve I wish you all the best in your new married life together! If you are getting married at Priston Mill and looking for flowers then do get in touch! Rachel@theroseshed.co.uk xx
