I have some beautiful spring wedding flowers to share with you today! My bride wanted to use seasonal flowers, focusing on a beautiful colour combination of ivory, plum and pale blue, with lots of foliage! The stunning hellebores play centre stage here and are an absolute dream at this time of year, the dark, plum hues give them a rich, romantic look.. perfect for a spring bride opting for a more subtle colour way.
In the bouquets I also used ivory parrot tulips, which offer incredible texture, ivory ranunculus, soft lilac and pale blue muscari. All of the flowers used are seasonal and are a massive nod to early spring! The pale blue muscari definitely lifts the plum and ivory, which could be quite a harsh combination without the blue.
I wanted this bouquet to have lots of movement, and by adding in lots of various foliage such as ferns, berried ivy, rosemary, viburnum and tiny catkin branches. I also left a lot of the foliage on the tulips, which provided a lighter green to the bouquet, making a good contrast against the dark green fern and ivy. The bouquet was finished off with exquisite, trailing, silk ribbon in a dark grey colour. I think this bouquet has quite a spring, woodland feel to it don’t you think?
For the buttonholes I made mixed, tied buttonholes using hellebores, ranunculus, berried ivy and muscari, finished off with green twine. I love this varied look and makes buttonholes so much more interesting by having a combination of flowers, but still in the same colour palette. Perfect for a rustic, informal, spring wedding!
