This spring wedding is full of freshness and vitality, and features some of the classic spring flower favourites, all of which are perfect to use within spring wedding flowers. The happy couple were wed on Easter Saturday at Haldon Belvedere, just outside of Exeter. Also known as Lawerence Castle, it is a grade II listed tower and looks very impressive. It offers panoramic views of Dartmoor, Exmoor, and The South Hams and on a clear day like Saturday the views were stunning. It was quite the experience setting up a wedding in such an unique, unusual venue.
Liz’s bridal bouquet was a natural, rustic hand tied filled with gorgeous spring flowers focusing around a palette of blue, ivory and yellow. Yellow freesias were important for Liz to use, so I started with these, adding in white narcissi, another sweet smelling spring flower, and blue muscari. Genesta is a real favourite of mine to use at this time of year, its bouncy nature, offers a lot of texture to a bouquet which is particularly useful when creating natural, wild looking bouquets.
Liz had two bridesmaids bouquets who carried a smaller version of her bouquet. The stems were tied with natural twine and ivory ribbon. The men had narcissi, spring buttonholes with vibunum foliage, whilst the Mother’s had a lovely little delicate corsage containing muscari, genesta and viburnum foliage.
The ceremony was held in a room right at the top of the tower, so I climbed a number of steps to lay out the ceremony arrangement. A breathtaking view, it must have really added to the atmosphere of the wedding! I wish the happy couple all the best!
