Easter Wedding Flowers – Huntsham Court

2nd April 2013

A busy weekend here at The Rose Shed, with three Easter weddings in Somerset and Devon, all so very different I am kicking off with blogging Kelly and Matt’s wedding first… prepare for some prettiness! Kelly wanted a vintage peach, cream and lemon theme running through the wedding day and flowers were very important to her. She had great ideas about what she was looking for beginning with these… David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses. One of THE most wondrous flowers around I was thrilled when Kelly booked me to provide wedding flowers for her wedding at Huntsham Court.

Huntsham Court is a beautiful, private country house set in stunning scenery just over the border in Devon. Each room has been recently renovated to a superb standard and it’s filled with roaring fireplaces and luxury decor… Quite the wedding venue!!

Kelly’s bouquet was packed full of these stunning peach roses, cream scented narcissi, cream lisianthus and ivory ranunculus. I stuck to minimal foliage using soft grey eucalytptus to separate the flowers. A beautiful spring bouquet in a subtle palette, I really loved creating these wedding flowers for Kelly and Matt. It looks so good you could eat it!!

Kelly had 7 bridesmaids, who carried a smaller verison of the above bouquet. The boys had peach rose buttonholes and I made a big batch of mixed spring buttonholes for the guests. These included lisianthus, narcissi, muscari and ranunuclus buttonholes with mixed foliage and tied with natural twine. A great idea, as in many weddings the buttonhole is going out of fashion, it looks so lovely when all they guests have a flower adorned to their outfit and by keeping them all mismatched and varied this adds to the style.

The first of my weddings for 2013 and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how it went.. when working with such gorgeous flowers and colours I do really feel very lucky in my work! Huge congratulations to Kelly and Matt!
