I love everything about this wedding and was so thrilled when Natalie asked me to be her wedding florist, providing wedding flowers to her venue Cripps Barn, in Gloucestershire. Natalie had such a clear idea of the style of flowers she was looking for and this suited me to a tee…wild, rustic, natural and seasonal and above all.. A bridal bouquet full of ivory peonies! Thanks to Neil Pollock Photography for sending over these pictures, I think they capture the day perfectly.
Natalie wanted her bouquet to be full of ivory peonies with mixed foliage. It was important to her to have that handpicked feel to the bouquet, so I arranged the peonies loosely and at various lengths nestled in amongst a variety of seasonal foliage including rosemary. I kept the stems of the bouquet longer than normal to emphasise the handpicked rustic look, and finished off binding the stems with natural twine. It was a joy to make this bouquet, and even more lovely to know that it was exactly how Natalie had pictured the bouquet in her mind, when I delivered it!
The bridesmaids wore wrist corsages of ivory ranunculus and foliage, delicately placed on ivory ribbon. The wrist corsage is a lovely alternative for bridesmaids to have rather than a traditional, bridesmaids bouquet.
I made little tied bunches of ivory ranunculus, scabiosa seed heads and foliage sprigs tied with natural twine for the boys buttonholes. These looked great and matched the style of the wedding and Natalie’s bouquet perfectly.
Natalie and Ed were hoping for an outdoor ceremony at Cripps Barn, and I have to say it has been one of my favourite venues I have visited so far! The gardens were lush and green with a gorgeous natural canopy of trees and I had my fingers crossed all day for the happy couple to be wed outside!
The tables were filled with jam jars packed with seasonal flowers in ivory and pale pink , ranunculus, daisy spray, astilbe, stocks, roses with mixed foliage, arranged in a natural, rustic style ever so suited to Cripps Barn and Natalie’s vision for the day.
The highlight for me was to be able to create this amazing hanging basket which hung from the ceiling of Cripps Barn, providing a huge amount of decoration and focal point to the barn. I loved being able to do something creative and different and I always enjoy making large masterpieces in situ. I filled this basket with larkspur, stocks, roses, cow parsley, mixed foliages and it really did offer the wow factor.
