Cotswolds Wedding Florist – April seasonal wedding flowers

28th April 2015

Wow, what a weekend… I could hardly move in the workshop for gorgeous wedding flowers! I had three lovely couples to flower for, spread over the weekend, and each couple choose the most stunning blooms! To see just how much pretty I had in the workshop please check out my previous post for the ‘Before’ shots! Jess and Ian were married at The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury, a fabulous country barn venue with lots of rustic charm. Jess wanted soft pastel pinks, peach and ivory tones for her wedding flowers, including seasonal flowers such as ranunculus, anemone, astilbe. Alongside beautiful, scented ‘O hara’ roses, peach ‘Talea’ roses and lisianthus.

The barn was filled with cream jugs on the tables, jam jars filled with spring blooms dotted throughout the alcoves and foliage and gyp swags hung along the mezzanine balconies. Jess sent me the most lovely thank you text message at 8am the next day… so I can take it that I did a good job!

Kiera and Iain were married at The Tythe Barn, Priston Mill, one of my favourite venues I have decorated it that many times, I know it like the back of my hand! Kiera choose the most gorgeous colour way of peach, ivory, coral, purple and lilac and as soon as I met her I knew the kind of flowers she was looking for were right up my street! Again focusing on seasonal flowers that are available in April, we choose peach ranunculus, purple clematis, white anemone, ivory peonies, lilac lisianthus with lots of textured foliage such as lavender, green bell, eucalyptus. Keira was keen to use succulents too, so I popped a couple soft grey succulents into her bouquet which added the finishing touches.

The Tythe Barn looked fabulous filled with spring colour, I tied little chair posies to the end of each aisle chairs and placed a loose, rustic arrangement on the ceremony table. Vintage, cut glass vases were filled with flowers and placed on the tables and the windows. It was great to see Kiera’s colour way come to life and I know she was thrilled with the flowers on the day!

Zhenzhou and Fan were married in Bath and then held their reception at The Bath Priory. Blush and ivory flowers have been popular this year with my brides and you can see why when you check out Fan’s bouquets! Gorgeous blush peonies, David Austin Keira roses, O Hara roses and ranunculus, all topped off with jasmine sprigs and eucalyptus. Just gorge!

The church was decorated with pew ends and large urn displays, while the tables at The Bath Priory were dressed with tall glass vases with lovely, domed arrangements sat on the top. All filled with hydrangeas, roses, stocks, lisianthus, and soft trailing foliage. Wishing all of my happy couples big congratulations and I hope this has given you a little insight to seasonal flowers in April!
