Colourful Marquee Wedding Flowers for a Bath Summer Wedding
Marquee wedding flowers are one of my favourites to get creative and stuck into! Julia and Matt chose the most beautiful bright summer flowers for their wedding at Hamswell House last July. As soon as I met the happy couple I was so excited to flower their big day as colour was so important to them! When styling a marquee it can be a blank canvas. So, by opting for summer blooms in bright colours, this can really add impact to your decor.
July is a great month for seasonal flowers with so many gorgeous varieties available. Julia was keen to use lots of roses, dahlias, clematis, astilbe in lilac, coral, pale blue and pink tones. We also opted for more bright, summer foliage. Rather than the softer muted pale grey as this compliments the warm flowers perfectly.
The natural bouquets were filled with scented O Hara roses, peach asters, blue delphiniums, lovely lilac clematis with trailing jasmine foliage and wigellia. I jut love the movement and texture within these bouquets. They are elegant and romantic yet natural. The bridesmaids carried similar bouquets, which complimented the pale blue dresses perfectly!
The couple were married at Marshfield Church just outside Bath. We dressed the church with large urns filled with natural seasonal, flowers. The reception was then held at the beautiful Hamswell House, which has the most stunning views out across the Bath countryside. Marquee wedding flowers really can be an endless opportunity to be creative. Think of how floral installations from the ceiling and the sides of the marquee can add impact and interest to the black canvas of a marquee.
The marquee was filled with tall glass vases and low glass vases filled with scented summer flowers. This always offers a great mix of colour against the blank canvass marquee and is a real statement look. Marquees are also a great way to add impact within the ceiling focusing on key installations such as hanging florals. We created a large foliage wreath to hang from the ceiling filled with mixed foliage such as eucalyptus, ferns and berried eucalyptus. This was a real talking point! Top marks to the marquee guys from Bath Marquees for expertly hanging our foliage wreath!
I loved working with Matt and Julia on their wedding! You could just tell how much they loved flowers and that they were a really important part of their big day! Soppy I know, but its always so lovely when couples send in their wedding photos afterwards… the big smiles here just say it all! The biggest of Congratulations!
