Berwick Lodge Wedding Flowers – Susie and Ben

Susie and Ben came to me looking for wedding flowers for their wedding at Berwick Lodge, Bristol. An absolutely stunning wedding venue, I was thrilled when they asked me to be their wedding florist! The wedding took place at the beginning of October and Susie was keen to stick to very feminine, pretty wedding flowers focusing on various shades of pink.

Susie chose a hand tied bouquet filled with avalanche roses in ivory, pale pink and warm pink, ranunculus, lisianthus, ‘splash sensation’ spray roses with white thistle and eucalyptus foliage. A neat, full, bouquet filled with these beautiful, feminine blooms which complemented Susie’s dress perfectly.

The bridesmaids bouquets were smaller versions of Susie’s bouquet however without the thistles. When I arrived on the morning the girls were all getting their hair and make up done and its such a fun time to arrive to deliver the flowers when all the excitement and anticipation is building!

The happy couple were wed at Long Ashton Church, however as their wedding date fell in the harvest festival the church was decorated with yellow, orange and red flowers which just slightly clashed with Susie’s theme! We opted to just decorate the pews with wicker hearts dressed with a few pink flowers to work with the existing flowers within the church yet still bring a touch of their wedding to the ceremony.  It is a lovely idea to use these wicker hearts as pew ends because they can be given out at the end of the day to guests and family members.

Berwick Lodge really is a beautiful wedding venue, the attention to detail in the decoration is superb.. It is the kind of place that as soon as you walk in you feel special! Even if you are just the florist wearing your work apron 🙂 Susie and Ben opted for classic glass low pedestal bowls filled with a beautiful arrangement of various shades of pink flowers including roses, dahlias, thistles and lisianthus.

I decorated the various mantel pieces and bar areas of Berwick lodge with glass vases filled with lisianthus, pink snowberries, white gladioli and roses. I hope to be back soon providing wedding flowers at Berwick Lodge and huge congratulations to Susie and Ben!
