Bath Wedding Florist – Natalie and Simon, Priston Mill
Now we are venturing into Feburary I feel that we are almost touching spring, my bulbs are starting to shoot up in the garden and I am most looking forward to seeing my muscari and tulips surface after I lovingly planted them back in the Autumn. Spring brings so much variety in the form of wedding flowers and is such an exciting time of year for us florists!
Natalie wanted to stick to entirely seasonal flowers for her wedding at Priston Mill last weekend and here a few quick snaps of the bouquets and buttonholes before they shot out of the door!
Natalie’s colour palette was ivory, pale blue and dark blue which is perfect for spring. The daintiest, soft blue muscari and the brighter more vivid blue anemones are great seasonal flowers if you are planning a blue colour scheme for your wedding. When placed against the white ranunculus, narcissi and tulips this really is a classic combination.
At the last minute Natalie requested that I add in some white parrot tulips, which I think set the bouquets off. Their pale green foliage works so well in bouquets, especially the neat hand tied look that Natalie was going for. Parrot tulips have a special place in my flowery heart! They were the first flower I fell in love with when I was working as a Saturday girl in a florist. My first Saturday job was in a long established florist, one that was pretty old school and more of the chrysanths and carnations type, so when I moved florists to the newer, more trendy florist this opened my eyes hugely! I never realised how many other flower varieties there were and this is where I really began to love flowers and floristry!
