Barnsley House Wedding Flowers

On the blog today… have you ever seen more beautiful Barnsley House Wedding Flowers?! Amy and Nathan were married back in June and it really was a super stylish, flower filled wedding. Amy wanted to stick to an all ivory floral colour scheme, with lots of mixed foliage throughout. We could really go to town on florals at Barnsley House with a huge trailing ceremony arch. Also with huge, mega statement table decorations. A big thanks to Red Maple Photography for these photos… enjoy!

We worked together with stylist Victoria Paling, to create a timeless, elegant luxurious look for Amy and Nathan. Amy loved peonies, and June is the perfect month for these beautiful blousy blooms. A lot of brides have their heart set on peonies. However, they are only available from late April until mid July. So if you are lucky enough to get married within this time frame, peonies are a must. If not then there are lots of other gorgeous flowers with a similar look. For example garden roses, which are available all year round.

Bouquets:

Amy’s bouquet was filled with blousy ivory peonies, scented white stocks and a new variety of lisianthus. Lisianthus can be considered to be not the most imaginative flower, however this frilly, double variety really has a different feel to it The pale green buds add that texture and movement that is so important in a bouquet. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of all mixed foliage including eucalyptus, olive, rosemary and grasses.

Ceremony Flowers:

2019 has been the year of statement arches! I love the natural feel to this installation we created at Barnsley House in the gardens. How lucky to be able to be married outside in these stunning grounds?! We used beech branches to create the natural, growing shape of the arch with lots of other mixed foliage too. June is a great season for summer blooms including tall white delphiniums which provide that natural, meadow feel. Alongside larkspur, stocks, spray roses and hydrangeas.

The aisle at Barnsley House was lined with meadow style runners. These were filled with natural grasses, foxgloves, campanula and larkspur. This kind of look really offers the wow factor to any aisle and is such a romantic way to walk down the aisle. Alongside the arch they are the perfect backdrop for photos too!

Barnsley House Wedding Reception Flowers:

We created stunning Barnsley House wedding flowers for inside the venue. These gold high rise metal stands held a continuous floral arrangement with overgrown trailing branches. Filled with peonies, campanula and stocks these arrangements smelt amazing too. Hanging glass baubles were hung from the decorations adding candle light and added atmosphere throughout the room. I loved creating these statement pieces and we have never seen anything like it within Barnsley House before. If you are going for tall, high table decorations then keep it simple on the tables. By the time you have wine glass/cutlery etc there will to be much room for more decor. So try to keep the interest and impact within the height of the room. This kind of arrangement would work in any wedding venues, from marquees to barns you can focus this look on every table or perhaps just your main top table for example.

Working on stunning weddings like this really is the dream and I know I am so lucky to love my job as much as I do! But it really does involve a massive amount of work to get to this stage. After starting as a Saturday girl at 13 in a local florist, I have slowly worked my way up to running my own business for 8 years. We are based now at Paintworks in Bristol. It is my absolute passion and you may call it cringe I know, but seeing photos of our beautiful weddings like this really makes all the early starts, late nights and broken fingernails all worth it!
