Somerset Wedding Flowers – Tom and Hannah

Spring has well and truly sprung and I want to share with you some very seasonal wedding flowers from a recent wedding in Bishops Lydeard, Somerset. Hannah was a bridesmaid at one of my weddings at Cothay Manor in 2012 so it was so lovely to hear from her when she began planning her own wedding! Getting married in March, Hannah wanted to stick to a seasonal colour way of ivory, cream and yellow focusing on using seasonal flowers too.

Hannah’s bouquet was a natural, hand tied trailing bouquet packed full of ivory roses, scented cream narcissi, pale yellow ranunculus, yellow freesia, lisianthus and veronica. It was important to use lots of greens to within the wedding flowers so I used a variety of foliage including buplerum, green bell, eucalyptus and rosemary foliage. Soft white ginista sprigs also added lots of movement and a natural feel to the bouquet.

The bridesmaids carried hand tied posy bouquets filled with all of the above spring flowers. I tied the stems of the bouquet with hessian and tied with natural twine, adding that rustic look that Hannah was so keen to incorporate.

The happy couple were married in Bishops Lydeard church and I filled the church with flowers! I filled a rustic urn with delphiniums, stocks, snap dragons, tulips, ginista and blossom to be placed at the altar offering great impact. Pew ends decorated the ends of the pews also lining the aisle.

I placed two cream enamel jugs in the entrance to the church which really suited the country feel to the wedding and fitted in perfectly with the village church. A large bucket filled with seasonal spring flowers was also placed inside the church.

Hannah and Tom held their reception at Dunster Tithe Barn, Somerset a beautiful stone barn and I had cleared all of the flowers from the church and brought along here after the ceremony. For the tables I filled cream enamel buckets with seasonal spring flowers, such a pretty idea and these are perfect for tables and can be given away as pressies at the end of the night!

Congratulations to Hannah and Tom you were great to work with and I really enjoyed making your wedding flowers for your lovely spring wedding!
