Bristol Wedding Flowers – The Grand Hotel
I absolutely love the colour scheme of these wedding flowers… Kim and Nay were married at The Grand Hotel, Bristol on the sunny Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. I was thrilled when I woke up and the sun was shining for them! Kim wanted an interesting mix of purples, corals, cerise and pale pink flowers within her bouquet. I used Miss Piggy roses, Sweet Avalanche roses, Cool Water roses, Coral Charm peonies, purple hydrangea florets and veronica. All tightly packed together with no foliage this really was a stunning colour combo.
To dress the ceremony room I filled two large urns with tall purple delphiniums, cerise hydrangeas with trailing ivy. They looked really grand and framed the aisle and the couple perfectly. I made tiny bunches of lisianthus which were placed within the chair bows lining the aisle, creating that special atmosphere, lining the aisle.
Tables were decorated with candelabras which were filled with cerise, purple, coral and pale pink flowers. I really enjoyed working with Kim she was so enthusiastic and excited I was really chuffed on the morning when she was so pleased with the flowers. Lots of Love to Kim and Nay from The Rose Shed! xx

Somerset Wedding Flowers – Kate and Pete get wed in Wells
Here are Kate and Pete’s wedding flowers, who got married in a church in Wells with a reception in a marquee. The colour scheme for this wedding was various tones of purples, lilacs, dusky pinks and ivory, with a lovely natural look focusing on country style flowers. Kate’s bouquet was filled with clematis, lisianthus, hydrangea florets, veronica, wax flower with a selection of roses: Avalanche, Cool Water, Dark Hypnose and Memory Lane. The various shades of purples blended beautifully together and was lifted by the addition of the ivory roses and veronica.
The three bridesmaids carried a similar style of bouquet, however I focused on using more of the dusky pinks within their bouquets to match the colour of their dark lavender/grey dresses. Here I used pale pink hydrangea florets, lilac and pink lisianthus, white veronica with the Memory Lane, Avalanche and Dark Hypnose roses. I love the compact nature of the boquets, yet how they still look natural and each flower can be individually picked out.
I decorated the church in Wells with flowers by tying pew ends onto the aisles. I used stocks to provide a heavenly scent within the church, with lisianthus, roses and eucalytpus. The tied bunches work great for pew ends, lining the aisle in a more natural, less conventional kind of way. I also filled two large vintage looking urns with a natural, rustic arrangement of hydrangeas, larkspur, stocks, lisianthus, roses which were placed on pillars to greet the guests at the entrance to the church, and also at the front of the Altar. I always say when it comes to decorating the church to focus on a few key areas that you want to decorate and go for statement peices to create impact, the urns can then be transported to the venue afterwards.
Kate and Pete held their wedding reception at Stoberry House, a fantastic venue with stunning gardens allowing you to have a marquee within the gardens, the views were stunning and I could see right over to Glastonbury Tor, and look down onto Wells Cathedral. I decorated the tables with jam jars full of seasonal flowers in whites, purples, lilacs and dusky pinks. Very fitting decoration for a country style wedding, the tables were names after old apple varieties! Wishing Kate and Pete lots of happiness in their new married life together xx

Priston Mill Wedding Flowers – Adam and Laura
On Saturday I had the almighty pleasure of providing wedding flowers for Laura and Adam who were getting married at Priston Mill. One of my favourite venues, and my first time decorating the Watermill, with its own ancient waterwheel in the entrance with working cogs and wheels! Laura and Adam wanted to decorate Priston Mill with simple, rustic, natural looking seasonal flowers in pale pinks, peaches, ivory and yellows working with jam jars and Kilner jars for that laid back kind of wedding!
Laura’s bouquet was filled with pale pink Sweet Avalanche roses, my new favourite rose ‘Ohara’ which has a beautiful, old fashioned rose scent, (such a treat these days), ivory ranunculus, astilbe and larkspur. Laura originally showed me a picture of a bouquet featuring dahlias, but as they are out of season we went for ranunculus as a perfect substitute. Laura wanted to use pale grey foliage within the bouquet so I used eucalyptus and brunia, and also added in some succulents which completely transformed the bouquet giving the blousy, feminine flowers that edge. Succulents are becoming more and more popular within wedding flowers so it was great to meet someone open to embracing this new trend.
The three bridesmaids carried similar versions of Laura’s bouquet without the succulents, I always think it is nice to keep one of the ‘exclusive’ flowers soley for the bride!
Regarding table flowers for Priston Mill, Laura and Adam collected jam jars and found some dinky milk bottles just perfect for filling with their natural, country inspired blooms. The flowers I used to decorate the tables included daisys, astilbe, roses, stocks, lisianthus, craspedia and achillea. These bottles were also placed around candles in the bar, and on the ceremony table, providing this lovely country feel throughout the mill.
I placed larger Kilner jars filled with the above seasonal flowers in each window of the upstairs room, it was lovely to look out over the rolling green hills and the countryside behind the colourful blooms. A combination not many people go for, yet I think this is one of my favourite weddings yet.. the delicateness of the daisy and astilbe against the more masculine, yellow craspedia realy worked and I am now a pink and yellow convert! Flowers for a Westonbirt Arboretum wedding
I was so excited when Sarah and Lee got in touch about providing wedding flowers for their wedding at Westonbirt Arboretum. It is such a beautiful place, so what a stunning location for a wedding! I arrived to decorate the venue with the sun shining through blue skies, and thought WOW!! Sarah and Lee had a really good vision for their wedding and understood the natural beauty of the Great Oak Hall and the amazing back drop of the woodland of the Arboretum that this venue provided.
Sarah’s bridal bouquet was filled with Cezanne roses, white freesia, and white ranunculus. Sarah and Lee were keen to use seasonal spring flowers within their wedding, however Sarah really wanted to include the most stunning Cezanne rose in her bouquet. A rose with a green and pink tinge, this worked so well with the ivory palette and topped off with using eucalyptus, rosemary foliage, ferns and fountain grass this added the unusual mix of texture witin the bouquet.
The boys had tied buttonholes of ranunculus and freesia with rosemary, fern and eucalytpus sprigs, tied off with natural twine.
Sarah and Lee wanted to carry on the spring woodland wedding theme throughout the day so the reception flowers were loose, spring arrangements filled with narcissi, freesia, ranunculus, lisianthus with a variety of woodland foliage and the added extras on scabiosa seed pods and moss. The moss added the woodland feel to the arrangements and would have looked great on the dark green table runners that were accessorising the tables.
Sarah and Lee wanted fresh flower confetti at their wedding, so I filled three baskets with hydrangea petals. Apparantly they are the best flowers to throw to get good flower confetti shots.
It was lovely to work with a couple who had such a clear idea of what they were looking for from their wedding flowers, and working in such a naturally, beautiful environment such as the Arboretum really topped off the day for me! Estee and John – Cotswolds Wedding Flowers
Spring wedding flowers have to be some of my favourites, and John and Estee’s flowers are no exception! I met with Estee and her future Mother in Law at the wedding venue, The Bear of Rodborough before Christmas and we discussed in detail the types of flowers that were important to use in the wedding. Estee wanted all seasonal flowers and a colour scheme of ivory, bright greens with a touch of pale pink.
