Annie and Ant | Colour Clash Wedding Flowers
Saturday was the day Annie and Ant got wed. A stunning, summer’s day, you couldn’t have asked for more from the weather. I was really excited about doing wedding flowers in Devon this past weekend: the ceremony was held in a gorgeous village church, overlooking the sea at Barnstaple, and the reception was held at Castlehill, Filleigh. Look at the gardens below, such a beautiful view, perfect to wander round with a glass of Pimms celebrating the newly wed’s big day!

Summer’s First Peony
Whilst on a walk through the local gardens, today I saw the first peony of the summer. This made me mightily happy. Peonies are one of my favourite flowers and if I had it my way the whole garden would be full of them. This particular variety is a crimson colour and looked stunning with the full sun beaming down on it, such a blousy flower they are the ultimate summer bloom.

Perfect for a Spring Wedding
Spring, to me, is the most awaited season on the floral calender. The cold, grey months of November, December and January (winter = very cold for the florist!) can be almost forgotten when you see the first of the hyacinths, tulips and ranunculus. These table centres are perfect for a spring wedding, filled with an array of foliage including trails of ivy and forsythia, and feature peach roses, pale pink hyacinths and early forget-me-nots that were foraged from the garden.

Jess and Paddy – A Bristol Wedding
On Saturday I had the opportunity to create gorgeous wedding flowers in Bristol for the lovely Jess and Paddy. We based the flowers around Jess’ bespoke wedding dress which was a fabulous 50s style lace dress with a bright purple belt.
